At stitch and flourish you can learn to use a sewing machine and build your sewing skills at your own pace in a private and tranquil space.
stitch and flourish is the new name for Café Sewciety. Maria continues to be the sewing tutor, now with over 10 years experience of providing private lessons.
This new name reflects Maria’s increasing interest in sewing as a sustainable hobby and in sharing her knowledge to help others, whatever their age or experience, to stitch and flourish.
Offering Private Sewing Lessons in Bristol

Lessons are taught in the upstairs craft room at Holy Trinity church in Hotwells. It’s a bright and tranquil space where you can learn to sew in peace.
Lessons are by appointment only.
The only access to this room is up a flight of stairs. If you require something more accessible please get in touch to discuss making alternative arrangements.

After 20 or so years working in management in retail and insurance customer services I longed to escape the corporate world to pursue my dream of running my own business.
That journey began in 2011 when I opened a sewing café in Clifton.
